Always No. Never Yes.
I asked him if I could write about an experience we once shared. He said we had different points of view so it wouldn’t be fair.
I asked him if I could write about how his kiss felt. He said that it should be our secret, since he kissed me in a special way, he didn’t want other girls to get jealous or sad.
I asked him if I could change his name in a story and tell people about the night we robbed a bank. He said absolutely not.
I asked him if he could tell me about his love for me. He said he was still trying to figure it out.
I asked him if he would ever say “Yes.” He said “No.”
Strange Love
I told him to stop calling me. He said, “No problem, I’ll text you every day.”
I told him I didn’t like text messages. He started sending me flowers.
I asked him who gave him so much power. He said, “You.”
I asked him if he wanted some wine. He said, “Just tonight.”
I told him I wrote a book about my ex-boyfriend. He said, “What a lucky man.”
I asked him, “Did you steal my happiness?” He said, “I am your happiness.”
Hot And Cold
I asked my best friend what she thought about him, and she said, “Who?”
I laughed.
I changed my number and disappeared for a while. He knocked on my door and shouted, “What do you want from me Marisa?”
I pretended I wasn’t home.
I asked him, “Can I have your shirt?” He said, “It’s yours.”
I wondered how many shirts he had distributed.
I asked him, “Do you believe in astrology?” He said, “No.”
I giggled and thought – Of course you don’t, you’re a Gemini.
I asked him if he was crazy or something. He said I drove him crazy.
I demanded, will I say the truth? He said, “Maybe.”
I thought with me – I already know.
The Golden Phase
I asked him, “Will you miss me?” He said he would come with me.
I asked him, “Tell me about your old life.” He said it was hot days, cold nights.
I asked him what color I should paint my nails. He said “Blue.”
I asked him what he wanted for lunch. He said rice and beans.
I asked him if I should tell my friends about him. He said, “Please.”
I told him to play me a song. He made me a whole set.
I asked him – “Will you roll me a blunt?” He said, “I already rolled three, you know me.”
The End Is Near
I asked myself what am I doing here. I had no answer. But I knew.
I asked him, “Do you feel like you’re in a cage?” He said, “Caved in a cage but I don’t feel the rage.”
I asked him, “Should I give you another chance?” He said, “Please, baby, I’ll change.”
I asked him, “Can I come with?” He said, “Baby, I don’t want you to see.”
I told him I’m running out of breath. He said, “Come here, lay on my lap.”
I broke his phone. He said, “I’m only nineteen, seeing things I’ve never seen.”
I asked him if he was happy with me. He said, “Reality’s a bitch, I gotta make it rich.”
I asked him, “What if I go away?” He said, “You won’t.”
So I did.
